Interview with Ethan Lamont from Underground Investigations

Cherry: Hello readers. My name is Cherry Hansen and tonight we have Ethan Lamont here with us. He is the lead investigator for Underground Investigations based out of New Orleans. Ethan has generously granted our publication an interview. Hello Ethan.
Ethan: Hello Cherry, and everyone else. I was asked if I’d talk about myself for the Shadow Lands Gazette. I think it is a fantastic idea to have a publication for those of us who are a little different.
Cherry: So tell us a little about yourself Ethan. Who are you and what do you do..
Ethan: I grew up in the little Texas town of San Marcos. Right after high school I left home looking for my fame and fortune. Well okay, maybe not so much fame and fortune, but I was looking for my own way. Eventually I found myself in New Orleans and decided it was as good a place as any to continue my education.
I started attending the University of New Orleans, majoring in Business Management. That would all change on the night I was attacked by a vampire. Up until then. I didn’t have a clue vampires were real.
Cherry: So the vampire that attacked you also turned you.
Ethan: No he didn’t. Another vampire was near. I would have died that night if not for my maker.
Cherry: What about your life after that night? What has it been like for you?
Ethan: After that night my eyes were opened to life in the darkness. Since then, I’ve worked to find those not quite human citizens who prey on the innocence of the public. That’s what my job is. It’s just plain wrong to use someone’s ignorance against them, and that is what so many vampires and other fringe types do. I am a firm believer the law applies to everyone, human and immortal alike. That’s why I started Underground Investigations. I help the police solve crimes that don’t seem quite normal.
Cherry: Can you talk about what’s happening at Underground Investigations today?
Ethan: Obviously there’s a lot I can’t talk about, but there are some things I’d like to share, like the disappearances of so many young people around the country.
Cherry: There’s been some buzz about that in certain circles but there hasn’t been much about it on national news. So many kids disappear these days, a missing teen here and there isn’t even mentioned.
Ethan: Yes, sad but true. Sure, many of them are runaways, but there is a percentage that simply vanishes.
Cherry: Do you think it could be vampires?
Ethan: Not unless these kids are being turned. There hasn’t been a drastic increase in homicides for that age group. Another problem seems to be that some of these teens are special in one way or another. They may have a reputation for being psychic, or they are born into witch families, and there have even been a few vampires that have disappeared. The vampires are a little more difficult to keep track of.
Cherry: And that is due to their habit of going solo?
Ethan: Yes, and even if they are part of a nest, the others usually don’t think much about it if one of them disappears. That isn't always the case, but quite often.
Cherry: It is well known that you are close with the girls known as the Immortal Sisters. What can you tell us about them?
Ethan: It’s not my place to talk for them or about them.
Cherry: Understandable. Maybe we can get them to give our readers an interview?
Ethan: Possible.
Cherry: Well thank you so much for your time. Please keep in touch and send us any tidbits of news you might stumble on.
Ethan: Thank you for this opportunity, and Shadow Lands Gazette will be the first to hear about it if anything new comes up.
